Chebucto Community Net is a FreeNet serving the Halifax, Nova Scotia area. The community-run high speed Internet access is a non-profit service and is the oldest ISP in the province, having started in June 1994. Chebucto Community Net is also one of the first FreeNets in Canada. It provides residential and non-profit Internet service, with email, web hosting, mailing lists, dial-up, and high speed wireless service. Its goal is to make the Internet accessible for all, and to enhance the lives of those in its community. It is supported by the Dalhousie University Department of Mathematics and Science for its physical space and host computer, as well as by other organizations.
